Until relatively recently, I'd always avoided chickpeas, thinking they were essentially just a less tasty version of a bean... how wrong I was!
I've recently incorporated chickpeas into some of my dishes and I have to say, they're absolutely lovely.
One of my favourite dishes is a simple curry:
- Tin of chopped tomatoes
- 400g fresh chickpeas
- Chopped garlic & chopped onion
- Curry, paprika and a small amount of chilli powder
- If you want to, you can add some pre-cooked meat - pork kabanos sausage works well, as does pre-cooked chicken strips
Prepare a small serving of cous-cous to go alongside it and it's a perfect meal that's easily prepared in 10-15 minutes!
Feel free to try the above recipe and post back what you think, or share your own recipes that involve chickpeas if you've tried them before.
