Gamestop Fires CEO

Just read Gamestop has fired it's CEO, Matthew Furlong and appointed Ryan Cohen as executive chairman. No reason was giving for the firing. I wonder if think they will get some market share back from this.

Unfortunate but Gamestop has been on a downwards trend for quite some time now. I wonder what plans there are for the company following this.

Maybe they should have done it sooner. New eyes could have maybe done something.

Yes! Have a few in my area. Used to visit them once a month just to see if i could get posters and other things.

Same here. Used to be 5 to 7. They closed a few.

They need to revamp their model. Not only is physical game sales a struggle, they are a dying concept altogether. I know GameStop has touched into other markets with mild success, but they need to go all in to something. I'd love to see like a nerd hobby/card game/Warhammer/etc kind of stuff pop up.

The dude they just got rid of tryed to get into a few things. I think Crypo was one of them. The areas he tryed didn't do anything at all. I did read that they have changed leadership 5 times in the last 5 years.
