Hi all, I'm Crystal. I'm 37 and been around forums since 1995 (almost 30 years...I'm way too old!) when I was a kid and stumbled onto my first one. Been hooked ever since. I'm originally from the UK, currently living in the US and I do stuff and also things. That's about it.

...no gif support!?!?!?!?!
Ugh. Another thing to add to the list. I can't do much on my phone although I somehow managed to install this forum on my phone.

Of all the things you didn't think to do, YOU didn't think to add Giphy support. Humph. :p

No worries, no rush ;)

Hello Crystal,
You seem to have used forums since 7. Were forums the first websites that you started using on the world wide web? Youtube and Facebook did not exist back in the 90s.

Yep, I was a very immature child and the internet was a vastly different place back then, but forums were out there back then and they were a lot of fun! I definitely used forums before I used most other forms of websites.

I know forums are one of the oldest websites on the internet but sadly these days most people are busy on social media. The first websites I used were public chatroom, it was fun.

Yep, forums trace back to the pre-internet days, back to old-school BBS's and Usenet groups, quite amazing to think just how far technology has come since then! Chatrooms were run back in the day, too, definitely!! AOL helped to make the chatroom mainstream back then. Pre-social media internet was fantastic. It's only since the dawn of social media that things have really sort of taken a downward turn, honestly. Social media, for all it might have its good parts, really has hurt the "social" side of the internet.
