Midnight Mass

In my younger days going for midnight mass on Christmas Eve was a must for all of us. We always had new clothes to wear and we neigbours got together and attended mass After mass some neighbours would come with us and then we would enjoy the night singing carols and eating Christmas sweets, not to forget the cake and wine.

It's something that I've never done, personally.

My ex-wife's grandparents were quite religious, so would often go when they came over to visit. I never took up their offer to join them.

For us it was more to wear new clothes and show off although I remember I used to doze while mass was being offered
