Moderating Posts For New Members

Some forums moderate posts for new members and they need to be manually approved until they reach certain number of posts, where as some forums do not moderate posts. Some forms auto approve posts but put topics under moderation. What is your policy?

I don't do it but I can put members on moderation if they choose to cause trouble here but I haven't really ever had to do it on any forums I've owned.

I've only had to employ the tactic fairly recently.

Unfortunately we ended up with quite a weird situation and the best way to deal with it was to put one party on permanent moderation, as well as any/all new members for their first 5 posts.

It's not something I liked doing, and if I choose to bring the website back I'll most likely ban both members causing the situation.

I also do not like to moderate posts even for new members but sometimes it becomes necessary because you end up getting a lot of spammers. If you are sharing your forum links on multiple places, you are also attracting spammers.

Yeah i only dealt with 1 so far thank god but u just ban them automatically.

I typically moderate them if they have a URL in their first post because 9 times out of 10, it's a spammer.
