A new live-action Hellboy movie is reportedly in the works under the working title of Hellboy: The Crooked Man.

I am unsure on this reboot. I loved the original Hellboy movies with Ron Perlman because they were unique and done by the amazing Guillermo del Toro.

They tried another remake of this with David Harbour from Stranger Things. It didn’t get as much praise as maybe it should have. I reckon this one should have had Abe Sapien as he’s my favorite character and was portrayed amazingly by Doug Jones in Del Toro’s films. I just didn’t really think much of Harbour’s performance if compared to Perlman’s.

Brian Taylor did direct Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so he’s good with the comic book films but I just hope if they do go through with this reboot they put a lot of effort into the characters.

I had no clue that they're thinking of rebooting Hellboy. I loved the original movie, and Ron Pearlman did an amazing job. I'd like to read the comics at some point, I just haven't had time to yet. :P

Personally, I thought the new Hellboy left a lot to be desired. I'd equate it to the Resident Evil movies or Underworld, whereas Del Toro's strived for something a little higher than that.

That said, audiences have spoken thrice now. There isn't a mainstream audience for Hellboy. That's okay! But it means you need to fallback and regroup - make a lower budget film (20-30 million) with a good director and see if you can build a fan base that warrants a bigger budget film.
