MyBB 1.9

Has anybody else been patiently awaiting the release of MyBB 1.9 software version?

It's been in the pipeline since 2018 and has been consistently and constantly beset by delays since then, but over the last year they have offered packages of the code up on the official MyBB support forum for testing so it seems that the software may finally be being prepared for public release.

Does anyone else plan to have a play around with MyBB and see what the new version is capable of? I note that the main focus of the development team has been focusing on responsiveness, and specifically mobile responsiveness, so maybe we'll finally have a real straight out-of-the-box competitor for some of the paid software versions?

MyBB is currently dead in my eyes.
XenForo will always be my go to.. frequent updates and better community support.

Same. Even phpBB gets more updates then MyBB.

Definitely but at least it's drag and drop now. I would always prefer Xenforo nowadays.

I hope it can go back to its glory days, but if people are only complaining about mobile readiness, that's easy to fix.

I have a forum on MyBB. I think it is easy to use compared to phpbb but certainly not very good compared to a premium software like Xenforo. I think it will be wrong to compare an open source with premium software.

I have not used it. Never considered using it because I do not have organic activities.
