With UK and Australia leading the charge, countries are increasingly adopting the standard that parents must consent to the opening of social media accounts by children of less than 16 years. However, the schemes are decided in favour of the social media company since they have the responsibility of veryfiying the consent data, meaning that they also get the raw data of the young subset of the population. Its scary!
