Shazam! Fury of the Gods Heading for Second Worst DC Opening Weekend

Yikes. However, it almost had to be expected because of how throwaway the DC Extended Universe movies have been treated. We know they are inconsequential to the "new DC" and I think many are counting them out because of that. Likewise, too, the first Shazam wasn't that successful (and Black Adam could've brought on series fatigue).

I am interested in how the new Aquaman will do. The original film released in December and was able to cross the billion-dollar threshold (thus far, the only DCEU film to do that). There were a lot of variables involved though (and a general curiosity about Aquaman on film). This time, it once again has a December release date (and that date has only become more lucrative with Avatar 2, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Star Wars bolstering it).

All eyes are on The Flash too though.

A very important year for the DC Extended Universe. This is it's chance to flourish or flounder. Game on.
