So, Phase Four seems to be coming together with the general theme of exploring the multiverse.

While there have been a number of complaints about Phase 4 of the MCU being disjointed and not like Phase 3’s coherent storytelling, that is mainly down to this phase being a transition focusing on how each character is coping with the fallout of Avengers: Endgame. Now though it looks like are about to find out exactly what is coming next for the MCU, and it started with Disney+ series Loki.

In the finale of Loki, the God of Mischief found himself coming face to face with He Who Remains, a benevolent version of Jonathan Majors’ character, Kang the Conqueror, whom was seemingly responsible for keeping the Sacred Timeline in check. However, when He Who Remains is killed by Sylvie, the first signs of the multiverse breaking out are seen.

While Marvel Studios have been gradually bringing various aspects of the multiverse into play through Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and next year's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will see the return of Jonathan Majors as another version of Kang, although it is now becoming clear that this will not be Kang in his most powerful form and will act more like another tease for what is to come.

With Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty sounding very much like the two part event Infinity War and Endgame became, it is clear that Kang is going to be built up over the coming years similar to Thanos. How much detail linked to this Kevin Feige will reveal during San Diego Comic-Con is yet to be revealed, but it will be more likely that we will have to wait until Disney's D23 Expo in September to get the biggest reveals.
