Some diss open-source software because the themes they see in premium software seem so much better, but professional looking themes are available for open-source software. Has anyone noticed this situation? Would you consider free software, if the theme was really good, despite other factors?

When it comes to phpBB I've seen many awesome looking themes. I've seen a few that require payment too which I like but there is a few that are free that are equally just as good.

This one for example is quite nice because you can change the colors and with a few edits to the theme it could look nicer with new forum icons etc. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/damaïo

I use free software because I do not have t spend money, so I have never looked for premium themes for my free software. Since I use free software, instead of esthetic appeal my focus is on building useful content.

I could use premium software if I saved money, but I get tired of XF and want to experiment with other platforms. Well, I wanted MyBB originally, but MyAlerts was unworkable.
