The Wednesday cast confirmed the news while addressing some season 2 fan theories.

The cast members also comment on the news that season 2 of Wednesday will introduce a "new member of the Addams family," unable to say which character it might be but take their best guesses based on the previous adaptations of The Addams Family.
 
I haven't watched the first season so I wouldn't be able to guess which character they're adding.
