Would you let your child join the entertainment industry?

In a situation where you discover your young child has a talent for either singing or acting, would you allow your child join the entertainment industry and why?
Personally I don't think I will let me child join at that young age. I have seen a lot of young children turn into something else the moment they get exposed to fame and everything entertainment.
