Do you do Yoga?

Recently, Yoga has gained enough popularity through India's adoption of Yoga programe and UN's celebration of the international Yoga day. However, I find Yoga to be a slow and often unengaging item in the list of things one could do to maintain fitness and flexibility of the body.

With regards to the scientific benefits of yoga, its really dubious.

What are your views?

I've never tried it although I'm always open to trying it :)
You can start with Surynamaskaaram which is a kind of excercise (otherwise called Aasana) that we do by facing the sun, which is the source of energy and life (apparently!).

It could help to reduce stress.
So as every other kind pf physical activity.

I can see the value in it but don't think that I am flexable enough to pull it off.
Thats not an issue. According to people who teach Yoga, flexibility is something we can build when we start to do Yoga. I tried it for one month and I see no flexibility except that I have to strain my joints too much.

I mean, why take the hassle?

I would like to.

I mainly want to do it to be able to stretch my body more. I'm tall and my joints are getting stiff as I age. I need to do something, and I figured Yoga might be a good start.

i have seen a lot of yoga in social media and there's a segment on a fashion show channel where they do yoga for a whole hour in the mornings. I am not really a fan of yoga, maybe it's because i don't get the whole idea. but since i have started exercising maybe yoga will be my next move.
