Classical and modern music are two distinct genres with unique characteristics. Classical music is characterized by its use of orchestral instruments, such as violins, pianos, and cellos, and is typically more structured with a clear melody and harmony. In contrast, modern music often incorporates electronic instruments and technology and is more experimental in terms of its composition and structure.
As for me, I like to listen to a wide variety of music, including both classical and modern pieces. Each genre offers a different listening experience, and I appreciate them both for their unique qualities, so I do not prefer one over the other.
Not really big on old 1700's music. My dad and his wife used to listen to that for hours around the house and I can't say that I ever really enjoyed much of it.
Classical music differs from modern music in that the musical language itself is often more formal and structured (and usually involves more than 4 chords). This style of music is often much more complicated involving multiple simultaneous musical ideas and more varied harmonic progressions.
