Experience with vBulletin

What's others experience using vBulletin? Are there still any big forums out there still using vB?

I briefly used it once on a forum I was an admin on about 10 years ago, and I've been a member of several vBulletin forums and I always liked the software from a user point of view.

Has anybody used it recently, either as a regular member or an admin, and if so, have you got any examples of popular forums using vBulletin today? I don't think I've seen any for a while!

VBulletin made the decision early on around the VB4 time, that they were not going to add backward compatibility for the add on developer community. This sent everyone running for a new platform, and guess who that was... Yup Xenforo. So although VBulletin still exists, they have made it clear that they do not appreciate add on developers or the even see the need for add ons.

I haven't used it as an admin, but this forum that I saw lately by a member on this forum was very impressive, so I wonder why so many people diss VB.
