At the present time I am a member on 3 forums. One I have been on for the last 14 years and have close to 8,000 posts. The other 2 I just joined on a whim not too long ago, and that includes right here. I like it here very much, but the other one I can't see me lasting too much longer there.

I am like a forum chameleon, I morph and blend into my enviroment. To the 1st forum where I have been a longtime member I am someone who offers out advice and how to's in my particular field of expertise. (don't ask) Not to brag but I have received many awards there for my contributions. So over there I come across as all business and to the point. Not going to play Mother Teresa as I was banned twice in the 1st 6 months there because me and a staff member clashed. These days they think I'm just fine.

As to the 2 new forums I am borderline trollish on 1 of them and defensive. Over there they get Nasty Morgana. Here I like the vibe and they get Nice Morgana. So my question to you is, are you the exact same on all forums that you are on, or does the vibe of the place affect how you behave on there? Are you like me in that you have somewhat different cyber personalities on different forums?

I post on forums from my home office while working. Often I am frustrated, overtired, and yes cranky. It can and does reflect on my posting. But at least on this forum I make an attempt to be quasi diplomatic.

All It takes to set me off is the weather LOL

But I try my hardest to remain calm online. As for in person - sometimes that's entirely different.

I'm the opposite, I'm quite nice in RL but in my cyber life can be irritable. I think it is because I am always working when I post. (that is my excuse and I am sticking to it)

Different Sites expect us to perform differently. Some forums pay depending on the comments and responses one receives. Some pay for what one writes. Some have different pay rates for different categories.

At the end of the day users expect payment.

Same here. I try to be nice, but there are just some threads that make me be an ass.

Oh, I can sooooo relate to that. It's a blend of over moderation, touchy admins. mixed with the content and subject matter.

They’re full of spam and not the same forums that they used to be, especially digitalpoint.
