Mark read / unread

There is an issue with this feature. When I see 2 notifications as new, they show number for a split of a second and then it's gone. When I click on the bell, it's bluish, and then after one second the color is gone as if I actually read it, while I didn't. This is a common problem I faced in the past on xenForo.

P.S. Even tough all messages are read, he still keep pushing alert as if I didn't read it.
