Small Town Music Venues?

Do you ever visit any small town venues to listen to music, watch a band play?

My husband got excited one day because a band was playing at the local bar that was in the college town near us. He convinced our daughter and niece to go with him and they got dressed up thinking it was a wild college party. It turned out to be some old guys our age playing some boring old music and the girls were texting me for help LOL

When growing up, I always go to this bar where a band group beat their drums every weekend. They come with dancers and it is always exciting to watch.
