Wordpress is my favorite blog software. It's so easy to use and can be used to build absolutely anything with the endless amount of free and paid themes and plugins.

I personally love the plugin called Elementor which is a very extensive website builder for Wordpress. It's free and you can pay for a pro version that has a lot more features but I personally have always just gone for the free version.

I have been running self hosted wordpress blogs since 2015. I have even used wordpress for ecommerce sites and forums. I absolutely love wordpress. I have used Elementor, it is a good page builder for wordpress.

I use WordPress and like it, but I haven't tried other self-hosted alternatives.

Who has tried Ghost etc.?
